Tanya brings more than 25 years of experience in workforce development, small business support, and nonprofit leadership to Connective Rising.
Her career began in senior care. For about six years she served as program, transportation, and food director at a senior assisted daycare, and she ran a 30-bedroom assisted living facility with a memory care unit.
She also spent nearly four years managing events, media, and public affairs for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and worked with Helping Hands to place job seekers with disabilities into meaningful work.
She went on to lead community programs across the mid-Atlantic, directing Meals on Wheels programs in Trenton and Princeton, New Jersey. In Annapolis, MD she led a mental health drop-in center and served as regional director for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia, where she wrote grants, secured funding, ran support groups, and managed annual camps.
In 2001 she was the Director of Elections for the City of Annapolis hiring and training more than 120 election judges and ran an election on 9/11.
On the business side, Tanya has owned a marketing company since 2003 and leads a team of virtual assistants in the US and abroad. She is a licensed Florida real estate broker who once led more than 125 agents, a former real estate school owner and instructor, a certified business and group coach, and the author of a book on business systems.
She founded Synergy Space and the Business Space Co-op, shared spaces that brought small businesses and community together. These programs were early version of what Connective Rising is growing to become.
Through it all, she has served her community: nearly 15 years as a Girl Scout leader and another 15 years as a victim advocate and crisis hotline volunteer
Connective Rising brings all of it together: elder care, workforce placement, small business, and community. It’s built on the belief that community is key, and individually we are more powerful by working together and sharing wisdom with future generations.
